TDP MLA's outburst at Naidu
By Our Staff Reporter

CUDDAPAH, DEC. 6. The Telugu Desam Party MLA of Lakkireddipalle, Mr. R. Ramesh Kumar Reddy's outburst at the Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, accusing the latter of laying foundation stones for irrigation projects in a huff for `deriving political gains' irked two Ministers, who were addressing a press conference here on Wednesday evening.

While the Minister for Housing, Mr. P. Ramasubba Reddy, and the Minister for Woman and Child Welfare, Mrs. S. Saraswathi, were asserting that the Chief Minister was keen on completion of ongoing irrigation projects and on taking up other proposed projects, the MLA accused Mr. Naidu of laying foundation stones for irrigation projects for gaining political mileage and stifling the Rayalaseema agitation for their completion.

The `baffled' Ministers tried to dissuade the MLA from continuing further, but Mr. Ramesh Kumar Reddy did not budge, and alleged that the Telugu Ganga project remained incomplete although nearly two decades had elapsed because the project was not cleared by the CWC. The State Government lacked funds to expedite works on the Telugu Ganga and no agency was coming forward to grant funds due to lack of CWC clearance, the MLA alleged. He observed that the ``facts should be disclosed to people and they could not be fooled all the time.''

Notwithstanding the MLA's resentment, the Ministers asserted that Mr. Naidu was keen on completion of irrigation projects.
