By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, DEC. 6. Hyderabad will be one of the four cities to be featured as the `Indian City of the 21st Century' by the National Geographic magazine of the United States, according to the MCH Commissioner, Dr. P.K. Mohanty.
Disclosing this after the weekly High-Level Coordination Committee visit on Thursday, he said the magazine was interested in showing the challenges faced by the people living here as well as programmes in place to deal with them. It would feature the urbanisation story as part of a larger series that the magazine was preparing on key issues for the 21st century, including emerging diseases, food safety and fresh water supply.
Dr. Mohanty said that the magazine had identified the subjects to be highlighted, which include urban family welfare centres and health posts and the Hyderabad Slum Improvement Project.
