New Internet virus

CHENNAI, DEC. 6. A caution has been sounded for a new internet virus, `Goner-Pentagone', which uses Microsoft Outlook, ICQ and mIRC to spread, displaying a text message and attachment `Gone.scr'.

Once the attachment is opened, the worm changes the registry settings and will display two boxes. The first box will be stating Pentagone coded by:.... . The second will be stating `Error while analyze DirectX'. All addresses will be e-mailed.

Providing the details, Prognet Technologies, Chennai, said a free solution to the virus was available on fireantivirus.com and fireav.com.
