'ULFA yet to come forward for talks'

GUWAHATI, DEC. 7. The banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) has so far not sent any feelers to the Government expressing its willingness for negotiations, the Assam Chief Minister, Mr. Tarun Gogoi, today said.

``So far nobody has come forward for talks although the Government was willing for a negotiated settlement to the insurgency problem,'' Mr. Gogoi told reporters here.

He said it was ``welcome'' that the outfit of late had expressed publicly its desire for negotiations. - PTI
