Desai quits AIIMS posts

NEW DELHI, DEC. 8. Dr. Ketan Desai, sacked president of the Medical Council of India, has `voluntarily' resigned from the institute and the governing bodies of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

A communication from the Health Ministry that Dr. Desai had quit was received by the institute today, AIIMS sources said.

Since the High Court judgment declaring Dr. Desai guilty of corruption and irregularities, the faculty at the institute had been demanding his resignation.
