Package for dependents

NEW DELHI, DEC. 14. The Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi, has announced a financial package for the dependents of the victims of the terrorist attack on Parliament House.

Rs. 10 lakhs will be given to the dependents of all those killed. In a significant gesture, in recognition of the supreme sacrifice of the innocent unarmed gardener, who died while fighting the terrorists, his dependents will also be paid Rs. 10 lakhs.

The statement by the Lok Sabha secretariat this evening said that one family member of each of the deceased would be provided employment by the respective department. The dependents of J.P. Yadav of Parliament security will be allowed to draw salary and other allowances admissible to him for the remainder of his service. Those injured will receive Rs. 1 lakh.
