CHENNAIITES, GET ready for some snow in the winter. No advance bookings, no railway reservations and no outstation trips.
It is only half-an- hour drive on the East Coast Road from the city.
The MGM Dizee World is organising a 12-day winter festival with a `Real Snow Show' beginning on December 22.
The programme will have snow flakes spread over an area of 20,000 sq. ft. Earlier a similar programme was organised between September 20 and October 2 during which the snow flakes were filled in an area of 8,000 sq.
ft., open between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. everyday.
An additional attraction this time is a `sledge' which is specially made for the show, says Mr. M.G.M. Maran, Director, MGM Dizee World.
``With the sledge one can slide from snow mountains from an height of 18 ft, which has been artificially created,'' he says. Everyday 130 tonnes of ice is to be used at the show.
Fashion shows, a snow man competition, dancing competition for children and family game shows will be conducted everyday for the visitors.
As part of the New Year celebrations, `Rajasthani Night' will be organised on December 31. Arrangements have also been made for the visitors to stay in the theme park.
