Good knock by Gibbs

SYDNEY, DEC. 22. Herschelle Gibbs made merry, cracking 16 fours in a breezy knock, before falling to the leg-spin menace of Stuart Macgill as South Africa built a big lead over New South Wales in its tour match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday.

The scores: South Africa 498 and 112 for one (Herschelle Gibbs 75, Gary Kirsten (batting) 34) vs New South Wales 385 for six (G. Mail 54, C. Richard 37, Michael Bevan 183 not out, Steve Elworthy three for 57). - AFP
