ISLAMABAD, DEC. 30 Pakistan has frozen the bank accounts of two of its former nuclear scientists suspected of links with Osama bin Laden, it was announced here today.

The State Bank of Pakistan has frozen the assets of Sultan Bashir-ud-Din Mehmood and Abdul Majid, who worked for the Pakistan's Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) until retiring in 1999. The bank also froze the accounts of Mohammed Tufail, an expert in nuclear fuels. All three were on the board of directors of Ummah Tameer-e-Nau (UTN), a non-governmental organisation declared as a terrorist outfit by the U.S. on December 20.
