3 Pak. soldiers killed

JAMMU, DEC. 30. Three Pakistani soldiers were killed and four of their bunkers destroyed and one border outpost damaged when Indian troops opened heavy retaliatory mortar fire on the Pakistani positions across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kopri and Mendhar areas of Poonch sector early today.

Defence sources said the Pakistan army opened heavy fire on the forward Indian positions in the Mendhar area at 4.15 a.m. and the shelling continued for about two hours. The Indian troops retaliated, destroying three of their bunkers and killing two Pakistani regulars.

In Kohri Pakistani troops opened mortar fire on Indian positions and in retaliation the Kahuta border outpost of the Pakistan army was destroyed and one Pakistani regular was killed.
