Benefit matches put on hold by BCCI

MUMBAI, DEC. 31. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided against granting permission for benefit matches involving India's current players. ``This decision will apply till the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. India has a 15 month commitment, including four tours abroad from March 2002 to March 2003. We are scheduled to play in the West Indies, England, New Zealand and South Africa, apart from the home series against Zimbabwe and the ICC Knock out,'' said Mr. Niranjan Shah, Hon. Secretary, BCCI.
