2 jawans killed in ambush

SHIMLA, JAN. 1. Two armymen were killed and four injured in a terrorist ambush - the first of its kind in Himachal Pradesh - in Kangra district today.

Troops were on their way to a firing range at about 8.30 a.m. when the terrorists opened fire from three sides, sources said.

The jawans returned the fire and the gunfight lasted for about two hours. However, the terrorists, numbering four to five got away. - UNI
