Crime against Islam

Sir, - Many right-thinking Muslims would have hung their heads in shame after the dastardly attack on the symbol of Indian democracy on December 13. Worse, it happened the day after one of Islam's three holiest nights. This was the night of `Prestige' - the ``Lailathul Qadr.'' Muslims believe that it was this night that the `Holy Koran' was revealed to the mankind. We feel offended not only because the attack was directed against Parliament but because it is one of the worst crimes directed against Islam as well. It is time the well- meaning Muslims worked to restore the image of the great religion.

Prof. M. Fazlulla Khan,

Madurai, TN
