Lashkar threat to blow up Taj

LUCKNOW, JAN. 2. A Pakistan-based Kashmiri militant group, which is suspected to be behind the attack on Parliament on December 13, has threatened to blow up the Taj Mahal, a Government official said on Wednesday.

Security around the monument had been tightened following an e-mail threat from the Lashkar-e-Taiba, he told Reuters.

``They have threatened to blow up the Taj Mahal, some other monuments and important Government buildings in Lucknow,'' the official, who did not want to be identified, said.
