`Rejection of terrorism a pre-condition for talks'

HYDERABAD, JAN. 6. Supporting India's stand on terrorism, the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, today said complete rejection of terrorism is a pre-condition for any dialogue process to begin between India and Pakistan.

``Everybody wants to see the situation brought under control and a proper dialogue (between India and Pakistan) can begin. But, I will like to say that the starting point for any dialogue has to be complete and total rejection of terrorist attacks,'' Mr. Blair said.

Talking to mediapersons after inaugurating the British Government-funded Centre for Good Governance (CGG) here, Mr. Blair condemned the terrorist attacks on Parliament and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

``I will like to make it clear that there have to be very clear rules in this situation and most important is that there cannot be any support for terrorist acts which have occurred over the past few months,'' he said.
