Mosque siege

SRINAGAR, JAN. 9. A Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant holed up in a mosque was killed and another surrendered after being injured in a gun battle with security forces who ended a six-hour siege of the shrine at Bamrada village in Baramulla district of north Kashmir today.

The mosque suffered minor damage, an official spokesman said. The stand-off began early today when the two militants took shelter inside the mosque after attacking an Army patrol.
