Aswin takes lead

THIRUVALLUR, JAN. 10. Aswin Jayaram of Chennai took the lead in the under-12 boys section after the conclusion of the sixth round of the Rotary Club of Madras Central's Tamil Nadu State under-12, 14 boys & girls chess championships on Thursday afternoon at the Jacob Matriculation School.

Five more rounds remain in this Thiruvallur District Chess Association's State championship for the forthcoming National under-12, 14 championships in May. At stake are the eight qualifying slots for the Nationals as well as a prize fund of Rs. 30,000 and the Dolphin Trophies.
