Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Peacemaker Blair

Sir, - It was indeed so gracious of the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, to have travelled all the way to India - just to remind us of the need to avoid conflict and to maintain peace.

Now one good turn deserves another. It is time for the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, to airdash to London and tell them about the need for peace in Northern Ireland. Of course, he should not fail to emphasise that the IRA ``has a strong position'' (a la Blair).

T. Devasahayam,

Hyderabad
