Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Avoid this precedent

Sir, - The Tamil Nadu Government should reconsider the appointment of chairperson to the Waqf Board. A woman cannot manage the affairs of mosques where she cannot enter and meet the managers face-to-face to sort out their problems as per Islamic law. Nowhere in the world have women been appointed as heads of Waqf Boards. Let Tamil Nadu not set a bad precedent.

K.S. Alamgeer,

Chennai
