New chairperson for women's commission

NEW DELHI,JAN.15. Poornima Advani, a member of the National Commission for Women for the past three years, has been appointed the chairperson of commission.

She will hold office for three years.

Dr. Advani succeeds the educationist, Vibha Parthasarthy. A doctorate in law from the University of Bombay, Dr. Advani will be the fourth chairperson of the commission.
