By K. Balchand

PATNA, JAN. 15. The Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, took ill today and thus deferred his return to Bodh Gaya where he is scheduled to lead the Kalchakra festival of the Buddhists starting on January 21.

A team of doctors led by the director of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology, S.N. Mishra, attended on the Dalai Lama following complaints of dysentery and found him suffering from exhaustion and low blood pressure. They have advised him complete rest for a couple of days. The 67-year-old spiritual leader was brought here for security reasons from Rajgir in Nalanda district.
