BJP leader quits party

RAIPUR, JAN. 15. In an embarrassment to the BJP, the senior leader from Chhattisgarh, Sant Kumar Netam, today resigned from the party, accusing its leaders of having ``utilised'' him to file a ``false complaint'' with the National Commission for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe against the tribal status of the Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi.

``The BJP misused my name as I was a party member and I was pressurised to file a false, wrong and baseless complaint with the SC, ST Commission against Mr. Jogi that he is not a tribal,'' Mr. Netam said.
