Siddarth rallies to beat Fariz
HYDERABAD, JAN. 15. Sixth-seeded Siddarth Alapati of Andhra Pradesh warded off a spirited challenge from M. Fariz (Tamil Nadu) 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the boys under-14 second round (main draw) of the All India AITA-ranking tennis tournament for juniors being held at Jubilee Hills International Centre, here on Tuesday. Siddarth recovered well from the first set loss to get the better of Fariz with his impressive cross-court returns clicking well. Unfortunately for the Chennai boy, he couldn't sustain the pressure despite the head start he got with his good down-the-line passing shots. The Andhra boy was clearly the superior player in the second and third sets and pinned down his rival mostly to the baseline with some precise and deep returns.
