Quits over`false' plaint

RAIPUR, JAN 15. A senior BJP leader from Chhattisgarh, Sant Kumar Netam, today resigned from the party, accusing its leaders of having `utilised' him to file a ``false complaint'' with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes on the tribal status of Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi.

``BJP misused my name as I was a party member and I was pressured to file a false, wrong and baseless complaint with the SC, ST commission against Jogi that he is not a tribal'', Mr. Netam told reporters here. ``Hence, I am also withdrawing my complaint''. ``The commission's October 16 findings, based on my so-called petition, are politically motivated and intended to misguide and weaken the tribal society''.

To a question about the status of Mr. Jogi, he evaded a direct answer saying ``the Chief Minister said he is from Kanwar community - Scheduled Tribe. But why don't you ask him about his caste''.
