13 massacred in Assam

GUWAHATI, JAN. 16 Thirteen persons were killed and 18 injured when suspected NDFB militants opened fire on a group of people taking part in the Bihu (harvesting) festival at Dalongjhar village in Bongaigaon district of Assam, close to the Bhutan border, in the early hours today, sources said.

The victims were Bengalis. The injured have been admitted to the Bongaigaon civil hospital.
