By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, JAN. 16. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad senior vice-president, Acharya Giriraj Kishore, today claimed that the AIADMK leader, Jayalalithaa, the Trinamool Congress president, Mamata Banerjee, and the Rashtriya Lok Dal leader, Ajit Singh, had agreed ``not to oppose the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya''.

Talking to reporters here, he said to facilitate the smooth construction of the temple, he had held talks with Ms. Jayalalithaa, Ms. Banerjee, the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, and the Nationalist Congress Party president, Sharad Pawar. ``We have received a positive response from all leaders, except Mr. Pawar. Mr. Fernandes, who is also the convener of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has assured that he would convince other NDA allies on the issue. Only Mr. Pawar has opposed the temple construction,'' he said .
