Held for supplying money to ultras

NEW DELHI, JAN. 16. Police arrested a person here who allegedly supplied Rs. 28.25 lakhs received through hawala channel to Mohammad Afzal, a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist and a key accused in the attack on Parliament. On being produced before the designated judge, S. N. Dhingra, the accused, Dilip Tribhuwandas Bharot, was remanded to police custody for eight days.

The court was informed that Bharot had supplied Rs. 28.25 lakhs to Afzal and others on three occassions on the instruction of a Mumbai henchman. Police said they recovered Rs. 4.6 lakhs from Bharot yesterday and sought remand for his custodial interrogation.
