TANSI hearing on Jan. 22

NEW DELHI, JAN. 18. Even as the AIADMK general secretary, Jayalalithaa, decided to file nominations for the Andipatti Assembly constituency, the Supreme Court today posted for hearing on January 22 a batch of special leave petitions challenging the judgment of the Madras High Court acquitting her and others in the two TANSI cases.

A Bench comprising Justice K.T. Thomas and Justice Doraiswamy Raju adjourned the hearing today after Mr. V.G. Pragasam, counsel for one of the petitioners, R.S. Bharathi, advocate and DMK party functionary pleaded for a short adjournment.
