LTTE extends ceasefire
By Nirupama Subramanian

COLOMBO, JAN. 20. The LTTE has extended its ceasefire, which was due to end on the midnight of January 24, by another month and asked the government to reciprocate.

In a statement, the LTTE said it hoped its gesture of ``peace and goodwill'' would give the Norwegian facilitators time to work out terms and conditions for a mutually-agreed structured ceasefire with the Sri Lankan government.
