Mahajan holds talks with Peres
JERUSALEM, JAN. 21. The Information Technology and Communications Minister, Pramod Mahajan, today held talks with the Israeli Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, and discussed ways of boosting cooperation in communications, industry and trade.
Mr. Mahajan, who arrived here on a three-day visit, said the relationship between the two countries went beyond business and trade.
Mr. Mahajan will also call on the Israeli President, Moshe Katsav, the Defence Minister, Benjamin Ben Elizer, and a cross-section of business leaders from IT, telecommunications and electronic sectors.
He will sign an India-Israel MoU on cooperation in the area of electronics and IT. Mr. Mahajan's visit, coming close on the heels of Peres' trip to India earlier this month, is the first by an Indian Minister since the External Affairs Minister, Jaswant Singh's in July, 2000. _
