HAL-Mahindra match drawn
BANGALORE, JAN. 23. Barring the first few minutes at the start of each half, giant killers Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) SC did hardly anything of note.
But the star-studded Mahindra United too were tardy and settled for a 1-1 draw in the ninth round of National Football League (NFL) matches at the Football stadium here today.
But the goal that the jeepmen got came up in the 40th minute, off a sudden raid from the right. Austin Okolo, the ebullient of the four Nigerians in the Mahindras line-up, crossed from the right and Jules Alberto Dias rose well to head home past a paralysed looking HASC defence.
However, the huge spectator turn-out did had reasons to smile on their way out when Nurlan gave the finishing touches after Sunil cross from the right saw substitute Nixon Louis centered across the goalmouth, two minutes from the final whistle.Mahindras has 16 points from its nine outings while HASC is a point adrift.
