Basic phone services

MANGALORE, Jan. 24. Bharthi Telenet will begin basic telephony services in Mangalore and Udupi by March end, the chief of marketing, G.Dhananjayan, said at a press conference here on Thursday.

He said the service would also be introduced in Bangalore and Mysore, and would be extended to other cities in the State within 24 months.

Mr. Dhananjayan said the company had completed work on laying 27.5 km. of the scheduled 100 km. of optic fibre cable in Udupi and Mangalore.
