V. T. Induchoodan dead

THRISSUR, JAN. 24. V. T. Induchoodan, freedom fighter, writer and former chief editor of `Deshabhimani', died of cardiac arrest at Cheruthuruthy this afternoon. He was 82.

Induchoodan, son of Ramavarma and Nanikuttyamma of Thaiparambil House at Vadasserry near Kodungalloor, was a member of the undivided Communist Party and, later of the CPI. In his last days, he was a bitter critic of the Left parties.

He is survived by wife, Mallika (the daughter of Malayalam poet, Vallathol Narayana Menon), two sons and a daughter. He has written the books, `Secret Chamber', `Parasuramentte Nattil', `Ente Rajyasanjaram' and `Shudhikaranam'. He was the secretary of the Kerala Kalamandalam from 1972 to 1978 and an active member of the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sanghom (Pukasa).

The last rites will be performed on the shores of Bharathapuzha at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
