Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Sena's threat

Sir, — That the Shiv Sena does not have the faintest notion of our timeless heritage, culture and civilisation is quite clear. By its threat to disrupt the Valentine's Day celebrations in Mumbai and Delhi, it has clearly proved that it is an Indian version of the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

The words of the famous poet W.B. Yeats "The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity'' ring true.

"For the evil to triumph, it is necessary only for the good to do nothing," said Edmund Burke. Let us vow to defeat the forces of fascism on our 52nd Republic Day.

T.S. Pattabhi Raman,
Coimbatore
