Gallantry award

Sir, — This has reference to Rajinder Sachar's article `Disperse the war clouds' (Jan. 19). Maj. Somnath Sharma was the first recipient of the highest gallantry award, Param Vir Chakra, and not Abdul Hamid, as has been stated.
