DD van attacked

SRINAGAR, JAN. 26. A grenade attack on a TV transmitter and a general strike, called by the Hurriyat Conference, marked the Republic Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir today. Suspected militants lobbed grenades and rockets at an outdoor broadcast van of the Doordarshan in Bandipora area of Baramullah district, damaging a TV transmitter.
