Ready for talks, Musharraf tells PM

ISLAMABAD, JAN. 26. The Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, has reiterated his Government's readiness to engage in a ``serious and sustained dialogue'' with India.

In a message addressed to the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, on India's Republic Day, Gen. Musharraf said that Pakistan desired to establish tension-free and good neighbourly relations with India. ``I would like to reiterate our readiness to engage in a serious and sustained dialogue with India to commence together a journey of peace and progress,'' he said in his greetings.

``On the occasion of the Republic Day of India, I have the pleasure to extend, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, our sincere felicitations to you, the Government and the people of India. Pakistan desires to establish tension-free and good neighbourly relations with India,'' the message said.
