Sir, — At present, senior citizens with an income of Rs. 1.3 lakhs need not pay income tax. This was fixed some time ago.

Now the cost of living has increased and the prices of commodities are very high. Senior citizens are finding it difficult to make both ends meet. So it is requested that in the next budget provision be made to exempt those of this group with an income of Rs. 2 lakhs from the payment of income tax.
