Farooq ready to move to Delhi
By Shujaat Bukhari

JAMMU, JAN. 28. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, will not seek re-election on the slogan of autonomy but on the achievements of his Government.

Dr. Abdullah also declared that he would contest the next Assembly election, putting at rest speculation about his retirement from politics. But if given a chance, he was ready to more to New Delhi to become President or Vice-President.

In an exclusive interview, Dr. Abdullah said that the situation in his State had not shown any significant improvement after the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf's statement.

Asking Hurriyat leaders to participate in the Assembly elections, he said he was ready to have any number of poll observers but ruled out the possibility of stepping down to pave the way for Governor's rule.
