Irina takes on Vandana in final
MUMBAI, FEB. 2. Top seed Irina Brar of Chandigarh was stretched before she got the better of Anjali Chopra of Delhi on the 18th hole to enter the final of the Om Kotak Mahindra 85th Ladies All India golf championships, co-sponsored by Essar Ltd. and Hallmark Channel, at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club course on Saturday.
The 36-holes final will see Irina take on Vandana Agarwal of Kolkata, whose careful play ended the dream run of Sonia Malhotra of Mumbai.
The results (semifinals): All India championship: Irina Brar (Chandigarh) bt Anjali Chopra (Delhi) 1 up; Vandana Agarwal (Kolkata) bt Sonia Malhotra (Mumbai) 5, 4.
Vikramaditya Trophy: Amrita Nath (Del) bt Rohini Majithia (Del) 5, 3; Nalini Singh (Del) bt P. Indumati (AP) 5, 3.
D.T. Challenge Trophy: Kanika Minocha (Chn) bt Mohini Chaudhary (Mum) 2 up; Nikita Jadeja (Jaipur) bt Rashmi Prasad (Kolkata) 6, 5.
