Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Ridiculous idea

Sir, — The report `Plea to allow LTTE-Colombo talks in India' (Feb. 1): The most ridiculous piece of support to the LTTE has come from the Tamil Nationalist Movement leader, P. Nedumaran, who compares the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi with those of Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi. While the killers of the latter were Indians and were dealt with the by laws of our land, the LTTE chief, who is an alien, is wanted by India. The former AIADMK Minister, Panruti S. Ramachandran, wants a guest house to be provided to them when our courts are keeping the prisons open for the LTTE supremo. These men extend their fanaticism of the language to include pardoning of terrorists. This should not be allowed.

V. S. Gopalarathnam,

Chennai
