Mani Shankar Aiyer denies charge

NEW DELHI, FEB. 4. The senior Congress leader, Mani Shankar Aiyer, today denied that he was assigned the task of portraying Sikhs as terrorists in 1984 as alleged by the former BSF DIG, Pratap Singh, before the Justice Nanavati commission recently.

In an application filed before the commission, Mr. Aiyer said he was not involved in making cassettes maligning Sikhs and distributing them abroad between January and May, 1984, as alleged by Mr. Singh in his deposition before the panel on January 28.
