NEW DELHI, FEB. 8. Jose Ramirez Barreto's brilliance came to the fore as the he performed a hat-trick in Mohun Bagan's 3-1 win over JCT in a group `A' match in the Durand Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Friday. Hardip Gill scored for JCT.

Earlier, East Bengal was held to a 1-1 draw by Punjab Police in group `B'. The Jalandhar side, which had lost 0-1 to Salgaocar, finished its league engagements with one point. East Bengal took the lead in the 33rd minute. Suley Musah converted a spot kick, resulting from stopper Rajesh Kumar's foul against Brazilian striker Jose Carlos Da Silva. Seven minutes later, Gurvinder Pal Singh equalised for Punjab Police. Barreto's effort, which came in a span of 15 minutes, allowed Mohun Bagan to stage a comeback after a poor start.
