Gurjar in final

BANGALORE, FEB. 9. Atul Gurjar of Karnataka entered the final of the above 55 years singles event in the Indian Oil Servo AITA all India veterans ranking tournament. In the semi-finals at the KSLTA Courts here on Saturday, Gurjar defeated State-mate Kodandaraman 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.

The results (semi-finals). Above 45 years: Singles: Yogesh Shah (Guj) bt V. Ram Mohan Rao (AP) 6-2, 6-2; S.V. Dora (Mah) bt Pushpa Raj (Kar) 6-3, 6-3. Doubles: Yogesh Shah/Gajapatim (Air India) bt Kotteshwar/M. Suresh 6-3, 6-3. Above 55: Singles: Atul Gurjar (Kar) bt Kodandaraman (Kar) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4; R.I. Singh (Del) bt V. Sridharan (TN) 6-3, 6-0. Doubles: R.I. Singh/Atul Gurjar bt T.K. Kothandaraman/Shetty 6-1, 6-2; Rajan/Kulkarni bt Madhanmohan Singh/Inderjit 6-4, 7-5, 6-2.

Above 65: Singles: S.V. Gosavi (Mah) bt G. Palani (TN) 6-1, 2-6, 6-2; T.N. Lakshman (TN) bt V. Sridharan (TN) 6-1, 6-2. Doubles: N. Padmanabhan/Shaileshreddy bt Srihari Raju/Hafiz 6-1, 6-2; G. Palani/C.B. Raju bt Venkatraman/F.N. Lakshman 6-4, 6-2.
