India B in lead

KOLKATA, FEB. 10. India B, consisting of Gagan Verma and Manav Das, took a four stroke lead with a total of 143 at the end of the first day of the two-day International Team Match at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club course here on Sunday. Verma played a round of two under par 70 while Das brought in one over par 73.

Sri Lanka A was placed second with a score of 147. Rohanna carded the day's best score of three under par 69 while his teammate Lalithkumara was six over 78. India C, comprising Jaideep Patwardhan and Simarjeet Singh, was placed third with a score of 148.

One stroke behind was Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa. India A (Keshev Mishra and Gurbaaz Mann) returned 151 and Ireland (Tim Rice and Michael McDermott) totalled 157 and Sri Lanka B (R. Anarapathama and Jehan Desaran) 172.

The Eveready all-India Amateur Golf Championship would be played at the same venue from Tuesday.
