Kasturi Rangan satisfied with Vijayawada pitch

VISAKHAPATNAM, FEB. 10. The pitch and the outfield, for Zimbabwe's tour opener against the Board President's XI, at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, Vijayawada, has satisfied Mr. G. Kasturi Rangan, Chief Curator and Chairman of BCCI's Pitches and Grounds Committee.

The preparation of the pitch and ground and arrangements for aspects were according to the BCCI guidelines, Mr. Kasturi Rangan said after an inspection, according to a press release from Mr. P.V. Krishna Rao, joint secretary of the Krishna District Cricket Association, Vijayawada, received here on Sunday.

Mr. Kasturi Rangan felt that the ground was much better than many of the present one-day International centres in India and expressed his confidence that Vijayawada would soon become a center for one-day Internationals.

He complimented Mr. N. Venkata Rao, secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association and Mr. P.R. Viswanathan and Mr. A. Yella Rao, in-charge of the ground at the IGMC Stadium.
