Strengthen ties with Iran: Swamy
By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, FEB. 11. The Janata party president, Subramanian Swamy, has called for the promotion of a ``multi-dimensional partnership'' with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Dr. Swamy, who returned today from a week-long visit to Iran, said in a statement, ``Iran is an energy surplus country, while India is an energy deficit country. India should exchange its expertise in software technology for assured energy supplies''. Besides economic collaboration, he said India and Iran shared a rich and ancient culture and civilisational interaction.
