Houses attacked
By A Correspondent

IMPHAL, FEB. 13. Suspected extremists attacked the houses of at least 10 election candidates in different parts of Imphal since Tuesday afternoon. Police said the security guards assigned to the candidates opened fire in the air to scare away the extremists.

Talking to reporters, the MPP president, Okram Joy, said that if the State Government did not take remedial action, the barrel of the gun would decide the fate of the candidates.

An underground outfit, the KYKL(O) has again announced that if the Manipur State Congress party candidate, T. Bira, is elected, his 100 hardcore workers would face the ``firing squad''.
