MUMBAI, FEB. 14. The long wait by the punters for capturing joie de vivre at Poonawalla Breeders' Multimillion race day will end on Sunday, February 24 when this mega event is staged at the Mahalaxmi race course here. Top horses, foaled in 1999, will contest this coveted and most prestigious event of the Mumbai season. In all probability, about 18 contestants would line-up for the starter's roll call at the start. For the 13th glorious run of the race, looked forward to not only by punters but also the breeders, the sponsors have offered an enviable Rs. Six million. This will be the third time Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky would have an association with the Poonawalla brothers for sponsoring this race. As usual, the winners of the contest of skill will receive fabulous prizes. The participants will have to nominate the first four horses in their correct order. The first prize is a car while the runner-up will get two return air tickets to Kuala Lumpur. A scooter and VCD player will be presented as third and fourth prizes respectively. The Totalizators linked prizes will be as under: 1. Computer, 2. Colour flat TV (21``), 3. Refrigerator (165 litres). A gift voucher of Rs. 5,000 will be presented to the winner of `Hat contest' and visitors have been requested to wear appropriate headgears to claim the winner's prize.
