The event will focus on key growth sectors, including Agro industries, clothing, textiles, footwear, leather goods, chemicals and allied products, home appliances, telecommunications, information technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, furniture, electrical and electronic products, transport and automotive products and Ayurvedic medicines. Announcing this, the Mauritius High Commissioner, Daneelal Seewoo, said the show was being organised to promote interaction between the Indian industry and its Mauritian counterparts to set up joint ventures and explore the possibilities of technology transfers. The objective of the exercise was to target the U.S., EU and African countries using Mauritius as a gateway on account of the U.S.-Africa Trade and Opportunity Bill which offers access to its products to a wide range of markets. These markets include the COMESA and SADA Trade Areas, European Market and the United States. Indian products have already gained acceptance in Mauritius on account of cultural, ethnic and trade ties between the two countries. The initiative for the event has come from Mauritius in collaboration with the exhibition organisers in India, TAFCON Group. Its chief executive, Arnaud Leciezio, said the fair would provide an ideal opportunity for the Indian companies to promote their products and services in this rapidly developing market. India has an export trade of over $190 million with scope for further growth.
